CURVED · STEPPED · CUSTOM FEATURE BULKHEADS

Curved & feature bulkheads in Johannesburg.
Geometry made buildable.

Curved bulkhead ceilings, circles and stepped profiles require more than standard linear framing. Skillio quotes custom feature bulkheads around the actual geometry, finish and site conditions for projects across Johannesburg and Gauteng.

CUSTOM PROFILES

Geometry changes
the build.

Curved runs

Arcs and flowing lines can soften a room or frame a focal area, but require accurate setting-out and controlled framing.

Circular features

Round ceiling features can define a central zone, lighting point or architectural focal area.

Stepped profiles

Multiple vertical and horizontal returns create deeper, more sculptural ceiling forms and need to be measured by developed surface area.

Combined shapes

Straight and curved sections can be combined where the ceiling needs to follow furniture, walls or circulation.

Feature walls & ceilings

Some projects extend a ceiling line into a wall or media feature for a continuous architectural treatment.

Lighting integration

Custom profiles can be prepared for recessed or concealed lighting where this is designed into the agreed scope.

FROM FRAME TO FINISH

The shape is only useful
if the finish holds it.

WHAT WE NEED TO PRICE IT

Custom work needs
more than a room area.

For a shaped bulkhead, the room's floor area alone does not describe the work. A useful quote starts with the actual geometry.

Plan dimensionsOverall lengths, widths, radii and positions within the room.
Section profileDrop depths, horizontal returns, steps and any light-trough dimensions.

CUSTOM FEATURE QUESTIONS

Before the shape
becomes the scope.

Are curved bulkheads more expensive than straight bulkheads?

They can be, because setting-out, framing, board forming and finishing may require more labour and waste. The actual geometry and finish are more useful than a generic percentage uplift.

Can you quote from a sketch?

A sketch can be enough for an initial assessment if the key dimensions are clear. Complex work may still need site verification before the final quotation is issued.

Can a curved feature include lighting?

Yes, subject to the available geometry and agreed electrical scope. The lighting layout should be coordinated before the feature is closed and finished.
